Yeah, didnt note he was a rally driver. And yes, going sideways on gravel and stuff IS quicker, as a finnish guy I know that very well. And when going round a tarmac circuit drifting kills your speed, as a racing simulator driver I know that as well.
Loeb is an amazing driver, dont know if hes the man, but at least he is unbeatable!
this is an amazing video but this car wont be on any rally track i dont think since it has 530 horses and thats more then the banned group b rally car .
Rally drivers are used to drifting into turns cause its the best way to maneuver on dirt and gravel stages. But don’t forget, rally racing happens on tarmac as well so I’m sure he also knows how to take a tarmac track efficiently without wheelspin. Check out Sebastien Loeb, the best rally racer of all time in my opinion. He takes a tarmac track VERY cleanly.
