What happened to the 2.0L 200HP engine that was supposed to replace the 2.5? Subaru forums have been talking about this new engine for years. Did it just disappear

not optioning the sweet new diesel in the states is an odd choice, but both the CVT and the 6-speed are exciting. would have liked either in my 09 xt.

I'm gonna play the devil's advocate here, I drive a 2nd gen and while yes, I thought the newer versions looked a lot better this latest showing is like a rebadged ford or chevy or something, it looks terrible, the sides are blocky, the wheel wells are blocky, the interior took a couple steps back in progress....my vote...no.

thats the uglyest legacy they have made, i hope the japanese market models have something to make them look better. First time subarus shot themselves in the foot on styling on a legacy. thought they would of learnt after doing it twice on the impreza

MariusZ270570 and hkyktms are on to something--Subaru's don't photograph well, you've gotta see them in person. When I first saw pics of the 2009 Forester, I was like, this looks like a jacked-up impreza. But when I saw it in person I fell in love. Ditto for the 2010 Legacy--when i first saw pics in march, i thought it looked bloated, but when i saw it in person at NY auto show, I was floored--it still looked 'just right' which is what a subie is all about. crisp, with a touch of style.

and the outback was a surprise too--this looks even worse in pics because wagon forms of sedans often come off wrong...but again i think subaru got it right. people wanted more room, and they got it in a pretty sleek package. i actually think the proportions are more correct with the 2010 as opposed to the outgoing model, because the latter was too narrow-looking for how high it stood off the ground, making it look unstable. the 2010 looks like a wagon. can't wait to see how it feels to drive
