other sources claim that the sti is a 13second car instead of a 14second car like in this video
ahh ok, i figured there was something to it
The Pontiac G8 (Holden Commodore) is a 4 door.
The GTO should have been the Holden Coupe60.
yep its rebadged. The New G8 should have been the GTO.
Yes, it is.
But the Pontiac G8 is not really a Pontiac, it is a rebadged Holden Commodore.
In Australia, it is sold in it’s original form, not as a Pontiac.
the pontiac g8 is manufactured out of austrailia…
You won’t find many Pontiacs in Australia. Maybe a handfull of privately imported Trans Ams, and some old Parisiennes. Pontiacs have not been sold here since the early 60’s.
The only North American GM brand currently sold in Australia is Hummer.
uh… GM was founded in the US… so its american. The original GTO was based on the Tempest and the first gen was built exclusively in the US. This GTO is not American as you pointed out, but it WAS classic American muscle, but no more.
I didn’t know the Pontiac GTO was classic american muscle.
Considering Pontiac comes from General Motors which is franchised in the UK and is at large in Australia.
???
It was rebadged the GTO because.. I forget his name, drove the car and said he loved it and it should be the next GTO.
You said “still got a gm motor, might as well be a pontiac”.
The Saab 9-7X Aero also uses the LS2 engine. Saab is another GM division, just like Pontiac.
Why didn’t you say “Still got a GM motor, might as well be a Saab”?
The LS2 engine is not a “chevy” engine. It is a GM engine. They are not exclusive to Chevrolet.
Holden (and HSV) use them in more models than any other GM marque.
I didnt say that, I said it has gm parts, so it might as well be GM, which is a chevy, which is a pontiac. you can say whatever you want but it uses chevy parts…
its no only a noun, but its a PROPER noun!
Holden is an Australian division of GM so it has a GM powertrain, and was imported and re-badged as a Pontiac same as the G8
What “Ford based models” does Holden have?
Australia is a noun, how about using an uppercase “A”, and also learn how to spell it.
So every car that has a GM engine is now a Pontiac, is it?
what explains its pontiac badges is the fact that pontiac is lazy as shit and just imported Monaros, and slapped a pontiac badge on them. They werent made in the US, they were made in Australia. that makes them an import just as much as the STi.
@79HZGTS Ah, yes. That explains why it has the Pontiac emblems and why it is sold under the name Pontiac.
STI has very good top speed, and Mikey323 STI’s are a dominant car and are very well rounded, you obviously dont know much about STI’s.
holdens are austrailian, like the other guy said its gota GM powertrain. By the way Holden also has Ford based models, cant tell me ford is austrailian.
still got a gm motor… might as well be a pontiac..
The GTO is not a Pontiac. It is a Holden.
These cars are built for 2 totally different things. Of course the subaru is good in the corners, it made for it. And the GTO….its a pontiac.
