Ok i own a subaru but this shit is biased as hell. their test drivers look like they don’t pay attention when driving other cars like the volvo/honda.
So where is Audi through all of this? Funny that the only other major AWD player is completely left out of the tests. I figure the average person will see the VW and figure it’s the same thing. But the 4Motion is a Haldex system where Quattro is not, a VERY big difference between the two.
Very biased commercial. The cars approached the curves in different speeds. So my conclusion is.. the drivers of the non-subaru cars are really good to drive improperly. Don’t get me wrong, I love Subaru, I fell in love with the Outback.. but I drive an A4 cause it has a much better interior and are the ones to pioneer an AWD that worked. If I wasn’t driving an Audi, I’ll be driving a subaru.. but to say that this video is accurate is foolish.
A Nissan Murano is a really good SUV-Crossover. I don’t know why it did not make it up the hill??
lol i donĀ“t get why the xc60 “fails” that the fast bends at 1:04. Thats the best tested model in the moose test by acdc.
Compare Audi S4 and Subaru Impreza on a track. Audi will have much less understeer despite being heavier.
You’re a fucking retard saying shit, fuck off
you wanted to say “after watching this commercial”
But their AWD system is rubbish on a track. Only makes the car understeer.
There are much better videos on this subject, made by less interested parties. The slalom test was horseshit (the XC90 took a bad line). But unless they’re committing outright fraud with the roller test, it’s not all bullshit. Considering how consistent their results are with others on Youtube, I tend to believe most of it.
People bitch about Haldex for a reason.
So are Subarus.
My brother managed to walk away from two very violent accidents in Subaru Foresters.
Their pillar construction actually posed a peculiar challenge for emergency personnel (being hard to cut). I suspect that applies to more new cars now.
Volvos are safe, and so are Subarus. Subaru’s reputation is at least as good as Volvo (who have long set the standard) these days. But Subaru reigns supreme in AWD.
I’ll second that. Plus, if you watch, the cars were driven differently. Having said that, I still would take a subaru over anything they were “compared” against with the exception of the Tribeca.
This video was made by Subaru. . . While they may try to look non-biased, anyone can realize that they are going to do whatever they can to make their cars look best. Note how the vehicles’ competitors are constantly changing, so that the worst performer in each test is pinned against the Subaru. The Passat was only in one test, as was the Murano, etc etc. Subaru isn’t going to make a non-biased video when their goal is to sell cars!!!
Volvo, Still the best. Always! VERY SAFE CAR NO MATTER WHAT! and thats a FACT! (volvo owner since ‘92)
it seems like the test was biased toward subaru…thats how good they are
YESSS
Subaru the BEST
subaru winssssss!! ans alwayssssssss
i have been driving subaru since i was 14.
true fact ((” 70% of the cars in jerusalem, israel and the west bank are subarusssssss.
smart people buy subarus, why??? i think you should know why after watching the video………
Subaru loves value conscious consumers with long-term interests.
You appear to be mildly confused and heavily delusional.
I drive a Subie and I wouldn’t go that far. If anything can rival the Subaru AWD system it is Audi. I have tons of respect for Audi’s cars, but for the price Subaru is the highest value and most performance and safety for the money.
The newer VDC system on the Forester and Legacy is REALLY good though.
My older 02 impreza has no crazy electronic diffs or traction control but I can still handle snow, water, and dirt hills better than most other AWD systems.
Yeah the volvo seems overly tail happy. I guess that would be fun if I was trying to die on the freeway lol.
Well it’s a Subaru promo what do you expect but at the beginning it was professional drivers. It was only Subaru sales people during the later tests in the video.
in the avoidance maneuver, it looks like the subarus are using their version of stability control (VDC), and the others don’t seem to be, although I could be wrong.
so why weren’t there any quattros compared in the video?? subaru actually has similar awd to most quattros, which is far superior to any other awd (mistubishi, etc) but all are just a knock off of the original awd that was done first, and was done right! go google it
Subaru’s AWD is far superior then audi’s.
for starters, Subaru’s are created from the ground up with awd in mind, not some add on later.
Key word is unusual CVT.
They aren’t all the same, there are a few different versions.
