Ken’s Open class car is not too far away from a WRC. It is certainly closer to WRC than to group N.
I live 10 minutes from were this video was shot and they should try it at night. its insane. my subaru has been down this road so many times that it can probly drive itself down it. They werent even on the best part, that road is about 20-25 miles long. Ken Block and Travis Pastrana are by far the 2 best american rally drivers and they have some of the nastiest subys ive ever seen.
awesome as usual but, with the italian directing, this could be inspiration for a new Mario Cart Rally! Ha Ha Ha. yeah ken is a great driver i’d like to see what he can do with a full blown wrc car! if he didn’t get it the first season or so i think his talent could take him up to the top shortly
Yes, WRC drivers can be more aggressive for sure, because they drive world rally cars. Ken is basically driving a glorified Group N, production based impreza on that stage. I’m sure he could be much more aggressive if he was driving a world rally car.
That’s true, but watching this, I can see how much more aggressive the top WRC drivers would be on that same course.
WRC is all about consistency and reliability. To win you don’t have to be the fastest, just be the fastest of those who finish. There are plenty of national level drivers who are just as fast as the top stars, but they just can’t stay on the road 3 days straight without a single mistake…
This guy is aboout spectacular, I like him for that, but he’s nothing of a WRC driver. He has no chance against Loeb, Hirvonen, Latvala, Ogier , Sordo and most of the actual WRC driver. His driving is gross… Sorry to say…
It would be naive to assume that Block is going to dent any armor in his first year in the WRC. However Im sure he will have to deliver a few top 5 finishes. Pity, realistically that’s a bit much to ask, and his SECOND year would be were I personally think results would be expected.
