I am using a profilometer to measure surface texture. Each manufacturer will publish specifications for surface finish requirements. This one was between 20,0 and 30,0 Ra.

could somebody explain a subbie engine 2 me? i’ve never worked on them b4… i thgouht they had 4 cylinders but i didnt see 4… i kno i’m a tool 4 not knowing but i gotta learn it!

subaru’s have boxer engines, which means they are “flat” instead of a v shape or inline. so two pistons go to the right and two pistons go to the left, just type “boxer engine” into google images for a visual

its a flat four. so basically its two cylinders that are horizontally opposed. Subaru uses “Boxer Engines” to lower the center of gravity
